I'm no blogging expert, but my friends in Columbus started one 4 years ago and it is a really great tool to keep track of what's up and look back and see what we did. There are no rules or theme to doing this, so add whatever you want. This really works best if more people are involved. Take a tour when you first sign up. There are plenty of nerdy things it can do like keep track of photos with flikr and you can even participate with your phone. This is all google based, so you know its good.
